The Los Carrizos Ecovillage is a project of the Interdisciplinary Environmental Action Group located in a rural area of San Miguel de Allende that functions as a Demonstration Center of Ecotechnologies--not only of technologies for ecological sustainability, but also to present a focus on social sustainability. The ecovillage shows visitors that by taking advantage of natural resources, rain, sun, wind, soil and flora, it is possible to have the comforts of an urban dwelling in a rural area. The ecovillage is not connected to pipes and cables. However, it has all the basic services.
